Poverty in Canada
Solutions to Poverty
There are many different ways to end poverty in Canada but all of these different ways can be summed up into five basic ways.
The first way that we could end poverty in Canada would be to educate the citizens of Canada. By educating the people of our country we can give them the skills and knowledge needed to reach their full potential. To improve the level of education in our country we could build new schools, train more teachers, and allow easier access to higher educations. By doing these things the quantity of poverty in Canada could be dramatically decreased. To do this in Chatham-Kent, we could raise the number of educational staff in our region to try and improve the education in Chatham.
Another way we could decrease the level of poverty in Canada would be to improve the health care system even more. By training more medical staff and investing more money into the quality of our medical treatments we can insure that our citizens will continue to stay healthy. One way of doing this in Chatham-Kent would be to possible have more "walk-in" healthcare clinics to try and help those who live on the streets of Chatham.
One more way to solve the poverty issue in Canada would be to ensure that the people in our country eat healthy and eat enough. Many persons in Canada do not get enough to eat in the average day and because of this they can be set back from other people. By ensuring that everyone gets the right nourishment the level of poverty in Canada may be reduced substantially. One way to ensure that people in Chatham are eating healthy enough would be to offer more breakfast programs across Chatham-Kent or even to encourage volunteering at local soup-kitchens.
Another way to end poverty in Canada would be to ensure economic security in every community across the country. Giving all communities in Canada a strong economic status will ensure that poverty will not be driven into certain areas of the country. By keeping all areas on a more equal economic level poverty can become more balanced and will not grow immensely in certain communities. A possible way of doing this in our community would be to invest more money into the poor communities of Chatham such as the East End of Chatham.
The fifth and last way to solve poverty in Canada would be to ensure that the children of our country are properly taken care of. By making sure that the future of Canada has a good education and is properly raised we can ensure that future poverty levels will be kept down. We could also teach children their rights and encourage them to take active roles within their community to help benefit the future of their community. By doing this the quantity of poverty in Canada could be dramatically reduced in the future. As said before, we could raise the number of educational staff in Chatham-Kent to ensure good educations. Also, Chatham could encourage the youth to help out in the community more to let the younger generation get a chance to be a part of their community.
